At Bethany Presbyterian Church, Bridgeville, best-selling author and Bible teacher Beth Moore’s Living Proof Simulcast will take place from 9:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Sept. 15. Along with Moore, one of today’s top women’s ministry leaders, worship pastor and Dove Award recipient Travis Cottrell will lead worship via simulcast. At Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, High Holiday services are as follows:

• Rosh Hashana – Sunday evening service on Sept. 9 is at 7. On Sept. 10, morning service is at 9:30, followed by a children’s program at 11, Shofar Sounding at 11:30, Tashlich serviceis at 1:30 p.m. and evening service at 7:45. On Sept. 11, a morning service will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by children’s programming at 11 and Shofar Sounding at 11:30.

• Yom Kippur – On Sept. 18, Kol Nidrei will be at 7 p.m. On Sept. 19, a morning service will be held at 9:30, followed by Yizkor Memorial Service at 11:30, Mincha afternoon service at 5:30 p.m., Nelah closing service at 7 and Shofar Blowing and Break-Fast at 8:03.

At Church of the Atonement, Carnegie, healing services will be conducted beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5. Those in need of healing will receive intentional prayers for their healing in body, mind and spirit. Healing services with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist will be held the first Wednesday of each month (Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5). All denominations are welcome.

At Lakeview Christian Life Church, One Lakeview Place, Bridgeville, a new Christian Life Class from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays begins Sept. 6. To register or for more information, call the church office at 724-746-3200.

At Ruthfred Lutheran Church, Bethel Park, fall worship has begun, with services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Holy Communion will be celebrated at all three services. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:45.

• Messianic Rabbi Jeff Kipp will speak at the 9:45 a.m. Sunday school hour on Sept. 9. His topic will be Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which begins at sundown on the same day.

• “Journey through the Word” women’s Bible study, 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. and 6:45 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 12. Study “The Seven Churches of the Revelation” by Dr. David Jeremiah. Child care is available for nursery and preschool children. Register.

• Junior and senior confirmation classes begin on Sept. 5, with the parent and student meeting at 6:30 p.m.

• Kidstime Bible Study, 6:45 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 12. Registration required for material purchase.

At St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carnegie, the first in a series of monthly midweek Taize Prayer Services will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 6, in the sanctuary.

• Rally Day Weekend, Sept. 8 and 9, at which time the church’s new fall schedule will commence, including: Saturdays at 6 p.m., informal service of Holy Communion; Sunday school for children, 9:45 a.m.; Sunday at 10 a.m., traditional service of Holy Communion in the sanctuary. On the last Sunday of each month, there is no children’s Sunday school. Instead, all families will join together for the worship service at 10 a.m.

• Sept. 13 at 7 p.m., a Service of Extended Service for the Rev. Sara Irwin will be held in the sanctuary.

At South Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Park, a bus trip to Lancaster to see “Jesus” at the Sight & Sound Theater, “The First Noel” at The American Music Theater and more is planned. At South Hills Church of the Nazarene, 5601 Library Road, Bethel Park, a new session of Grief Share, led by Pastor Pat Sutton, meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Sept. 13, or from 10 a.m. to noon on Fridays, beginning Sept. 14. This 10-week, Bible-based support group consists of DVD teaching followed by time for discussion and sharing. Start anytime; return for any missed classes. Registration fee is $15 and includes a workbook.

• Lindsay Huggins will perform in concert at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 7. This highly sought-after worship leader and recording artist spent five years working for musician and actress Reba McEntire. The concert is free, but an offering will be taken.

At The Bible Chapel, McMurray, Men’s Fall Kickoff 2018 will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 10. Enjoy a meal and hear from guest speaker Ryan Shazier of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cost is $5. Space is limited; online registration and prepayment are recommended.

• Young Adults Gathering is held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays.

• Women’s Fitness Classes are held various times throughout the week. All classes are $5 each, or purchase a 12-class punch card for $50.

At Trinity United Methodist Church, McMurray, a sign language worship service is offered at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.

At Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, First Place 4 Health – A Christ-centered Health and Weight Loss Program will be offered Sept. 24-Dec. 10, in the Westminster Recreation and Outreach Center at the church. The 12-week session will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays at a cost of $20 per person (includes the Bible study book “Walking by Faith”).
