USC Hall of Fame welcomes 10 inductees

Ten individuals have been selected for induction into the Upper St. Clair High School Halls of Fame.

Nine alumni and one retired administrator will be honored at the annual induction ceremony and recognized at the Upper St. Clair football game on Oct. 12:

  • Academic Hall of Fame – John M. Bornyas, retired administrator; Melissa Lentz, Class of 2000; Karen Pillar, Class of 1988; Jean Kogut Raazi, Class of 1990; Shailesh Rao, Class of 1989; Glenn C. Rice, Class of 1974
  • Arts Hall of Fame – Susan Lynn Castriota, Class of 1975; Chuck Rea, Class of 1995
  • Athletic Hall of Fame – Jerry Berteotti, Class of 1989; Austin Wilding, Class of 2012

The Halls of Fame event will begin with a 3:30 p.m. reception in the high school’s theatre lobby, followed by the induction ceremony at 4:30 in the theatre. Immediately following, an informal dinner honoring the inductees and their families will be held in the Nutrition Center.

The celebration concludes with a Parade of Honor to Panther Stadium, where the members of the Halls of Fame will be introduced to the community prior to the Upper St. Clair vs. Moon Area High School football game, which kicks off at 7:45 p.m.

Founded in 2000, the Upper St. Clair Halls of Fame honors those who have distinguished themselves in academics, the arts, or athletics at the high school, collegiate or professional level and who, in so doing, have contributed to the pride and prestige of Upper St. Clair High School.
