PHLF tours

Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation offers the following tours in September:

• Sewickley Walking Tour, 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 19. Advance paid reservations are required. PHLF members are $10; nonmembers are $35 (includes a one-year complimentary membership in PHLF). Space is limited. Reservation deadline is Sept. 14.

• Point Breeze Walking Tour, 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sept. 22. Advance paid reservations are required. Cost is $10 for PHLF members; nonmembers are $35 (includes a one-year complimentary membership in PHLF). Space is limited. Reservation deadline is Sept. 18.

• PHLF’s Greatest Saves all day bus tour, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30. Advance paid reservations are required. Cost is $75 for PHLF members; nonmembers are $100 (includes a complimentary one-year membership in PHLF). Space is limited. Reservation deadline is Sept. 12.

Dinner for a Dollar

Community of Christ Church, 3472 South Park Road, Bethel Park, will hold Dinner for a Dollar from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 13. The menu includes spaghetti, bread and rolls, garden salad and desserts. Donations of $1 per person or $3 per family are accepted, but not required. No reservations. No takeout will be available (includes desserts). To volunteer to help set up on Wednesday or serve dinner on Thursday, call Debbie at 412-833-6357. Used eye glasses will be collected and donated to Lions Club for distribution to people in need.

Fish fry

Bethel Park Lions will hold a fall fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 14, at Lions Park. The menu includes a fried fish sandwich, baked fish or deep-fried butterfly shrimp with French fries or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and a drink for $11. Children’s hot dog, French fries and drink dinner is $5. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Takeout is also available. Bethel Park Lioness will offer desserts for sale. Plastic bags and brooms will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit Lions charities.

Art exhibit

Associated Artists of Pittsburgh’s 106th Annual Exhibition will take place Sept. 14-Oct. 27, at 2708 Sidney Street in the SouthSide Works and features 48 original works of art. The exhibit opens to the public from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14. A ticket-only preview party will be held the previous evening, Sept. 13. A reception will accompany both. Electronic recycling

Mt. Lebanon will hold its final electronic equipment recycling event of the year on Sept. 15. JVS Environmental will offer the disposal service to the residents and businesses off Mt. Lebanon, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the public works yard, 1250 Lindendale Drive, off Cedar Boulevard.

Theater auditions

The Heritage Players will hold auditions for the musical, “Jesus Christ Superstar” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15, and 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16, at the Seton Center, 1900 Pioneer Ave., Brookline. Casting will be gender neutral. Prepare a 16-measure song of your choice plus one of the selected excerpts listed on our website. Seeking dance ensemble also. Challah Bake

Chabad of the South Hills will present a Mega Challah Bake 4Kids from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 16, at the South Hills JCC, 345 Kane Boulevard, Scott. Square dancing

Friendly Squares will hold a free night of introduction to western square dancing from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16, at Peace Lutheran Church, 107 Carol Drive, McMurray. Band festival

The Mt. Lebanon High School Blue Devil Marching Band’s 24th Annual Festival of Bands will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 22, at the Mt. Lebanon High School stadium, rain or shine. Cancellation
