Mt. Lebanon High School presents ‘The Sound of Music’

Mt. Lebanon High School will present the classic Broadway musical “The Sound of Music,” with music by Richard Rogers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, at 7:30 p.m. May 2-4 plus a matinee at 2 p.m. May 4, in the high school auditorium.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students, and can be purchased online at www.mtlsd.org/tickets.

The Sound of Music is about a young Austrian woman studying to become a nun in Salzburg, Austria, in 1938. She is sent to the villa of a retired naval officer and widower to be governess to his seven children.

After bringing love and music into the lives of the family through kindness and patience, she marries the officer and together with the children they find a way to survive the loss of their homeland through courage and faith.
