Peters Township resident achieves Eagle Scout

Jackson Basar of Peters Township achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boys Scouts of America.
On Oct. 13, Jackson’s Troop 4 Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held at St. Louise de Marillac Church in Upper St. Clair. At the ceremony, Jackson receive numerous certificates and commendations. State Rep. Natalie Mahalek and Russ Spicuzza, South Hills Elks Lodge #2213 representative, attended the ceremony to award him.
Jackson’s Eagle Scout project benefited the Peters Township community by extending the Peters Wood Lake Trail a quarter-mile by clearing brush and constructing stairs to improve the trail access. Jackson’s brother, Zachary Basar also attained his Eagle Scout rank March 2016 by identifying, constructing and installing 12 geological signs located along the Montour Trail in Peters Township.
