At Bethel Presbyterian Church, worship will be offered at 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday, March 6.

At Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Father Paul Abernathy, pastor of St. Moses the Black Orthodox Mission in Pittsburgh’s Hill District and director of FOCUS Pittsburgh, will speak on Evangelization and Catechetics as part of the parish Lenten mission. The schedule includes: March 7 – Akathist from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and Introductory Conference from 7:30 to 8:30; March 8 – Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts from 7 to 8 p.m. and Second Conference from 8 to 8:30; March 9 – Closing Conference from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and Akathist from 1:30 to 2. Donations of underware and socks of all sizes for males/females will be collected for FOCUS Mission. The church is located at 726 Washington Avenue in Carnegie. At Our Lady of Grace Church, Scott Township, and St. Bernard Parish, Mt. Lebanon, Lenten and Easter services will include:

n Ash Wednesday, March 6 — Distribution of ashes will take place at all Masses, including 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at OLG, and 7 and 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at St. Bernard.

n Stations of the Cross are offered every Friday during Lent, March 8-April 12, and will take place at 2 p.m. at St. Bernard and 7 p.m. at OLG

n Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered at noon on Saturdays at OLG. At St. Bernard, they will be offered Wednesdays after the 7 a.m. Mass and Saturdays after the 8 a.m. Mass, and at 4 and 7 p.m. Thursdays. There will be no confessions during Holy Week

n The Light Is On For You Diocesan-Wide Reconciliation will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. April 10 at OLG only

n Holy Thursday Mass on April 18 — 4 p.m. OLG, 7 p.m. St. Bernard

n Good Friday, April 19 — Communal Rosary, noon at OLG

n Stations of the Cross, 1 p.m. OLG; Passion of the Lord, 2 p.m. OLG; Stations of the Cross, noon at St. Bernard; Passion of the Lord, 1:30 p.m. St. Bernard; Tenebrae, 7:30 p.m. OLG only

n Holy Saturday, April 20 — Blessing of the Baskets, noon at St. Bernard

n Easter Vigil, Saturday, April 20 — 8:30 p.m. St Bernard

n Easter Sunday, April 21 — 8, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. at OLG; 7, 9 and 11 a.m. at St. Bernard (main church); 9 and 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Clairvaux Hall{/li}

Regular Sunday Mass times include: Anticipated, Saturday at 4 p.m., OLG; Anticipated, Saturday at 5 p.m., St. Bernard; Sunday at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., OLG; Sunday at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., St. Bernard.

Evening Masses will be held at 7 p.m. April 15, 16 and 17 at OLG.

At Ruthfred Lutheran Church, Bethel Park, a full Lenten season is planned, including: Ash Wednesday Service at 6:30 a.m. and breakfast at 7 followed by worship with Holy Communion at 2 and 7 p.m., with the 2 and 7 p.m. services continuing every Wednesday in Lent. A soup and sandwich supper will precede the evening service, beginning at 6. The theme for this year’s Lenten services is “The Psalm of the Shepherd: A Lifelong Journey of Loving & Living with the Good Shepherd.” For more information, visit www.ruthfred.org or call 412-835-7140.

At Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 601 Washington Avenue in Carnegie, the beginning of Lent will be observed with two Ash Wednesday services on March 6.

n The Carnegie Area Ministerial Association (CAMA) will begin its annual mid-week Lenten series at noon on Wednesday, March 6. There will be the imposition of ashes, and a light lunch provided by Saint John’s congregation will follow the service.

n Saint John’s congregation will gather at 7 p.m. for the traditional Ash Wednesday service of Holy Communion and Imposition of Ashes. Choral music will be provided.
