Lent/Easter services: Week of March 10
At Our Lady of Grace Church, Scott Township, and St. Bernard Parish, Mt. Lebanon, Lenten and Easter services will include:
Stations of the Cross are offered every Friday during Lent, through April 12, and will take place at 2 p.m. at St. Bernard and 7 p.m. at OLG
Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered at noon on Saturdays at OLG. At St. Bernard, they will be offered Wednesdays after the 7 a.m. Mass and Saturdays after the 8 a.m. Mass, and at 4 and 7 p.m. Thursdays. There will be no confessions during Holy Week.
The Light Is On For You Diocesan-Wide Reconciliation will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. April 10 at OLG only
Holy Thursday Mass on April 18 — 4 p.m. OLG, 7 p.m. St. Bernard
Good Friday, April 19 — Communal Rosary, noon at OLG
Stations of the Cross, 1 p.m. OLG; Passion of the Lord, 2 p.m. OLG; Stations of the Cross, noon at St. Bernard; Passion of the Lord, 1:30 p.m. St. Bernard; Tenebrae, 7:30 p.m. OLG only
Holy Saturday, April 20 — Blessing of the Baskets, noon at St. Bernard
Easter Vigil, Saturday, April 20 — 8:30 p.m. St Bernard
Easter Sunday, April 21 — 8, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. at OLG; 7, 9 and 11 a.m. at St. Bernard (main church); 9 and 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Clairvaux Hall
Regular Sunday Mass times include: Anticipated, Saturday at 4 p.m., OLG; Anticipated, Saturday at 5 p.m., St. Bernard; Sunday at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., OLG; Sunday at 7, 9 and 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., St. Bernard.
Evening Masses will be held at 7 p.m. April 15, 16 and 17 at OLG.
At Ruthfred Lutheran Church, Bethel Park, a full Lenten season is planned, including: services at 2 and 7 p.m. every Wednesday during Lent. A soup and sandwich supper will precede the evening service, beginning at 6. At Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Avenue, Carnegie, the season of Lent will be observed with weekly prayer services. Mid-week services by the Carnegie Area Ministerial Association will be held at noon every Wednesday. A light lunch will follow each service. The preacher schedule includes: The Rev. Colleen Molinaro from Carnegie Presbyterian on March 13, The Rev. John Kent of Carnegie Simple Church on March 20, The Rev. Dan Pastorious from First Primitive Methodist Church on March 27, The Rev. Jim Snyder from the Pittsburgh Prayer Partnership on April 3, and The Rev. Alina Kanaski from Good Shepherd Lutheran and Chartiers Valley Presbyterian on April 10.
Saint John’s congregation will gather at 6 p.m. for a light supper each Wednesday, March 13-April 10th, and will adjourn to the candlelit sanctuary for a service of Compline: Prayer at the Close of the Day. This series of services will focus on the Psalms.
