People: Week of May 12

Mt. Lebanon resident Michael Sexauer is the new executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer of Holy Family Institute, which provides services for children throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Sexauer served as executive director of a subsidiary, Holy Family Foundation, for four years. In his new role, he will oversee finance, human resources, several human services programs, development and marketing at the charitable organization.
In addition, Sexauer will work directly with Sister Linda Yankoski, Holy Family Institute president and chief executive officer, on matters of importance to effectively serve the community.
A veteran marketing and communications professional with more than 25 years of experience, Sexauer has worked in sales, marketing and nonprofit business management in Erie, Pittsburgh, and North Carolina for organizations including PNC, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
In addition to receiving the 2007 Grand Marketer of the Year award from the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Marketing Association, Sexauer is an accomplished speaker, published writer and trained media spokesman. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and master of business administration from Wake Forest University’s Babcock School of Management.
Founded in 1900 by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth as an orphanage for children, Holy Family has evolved as a social services provider for the Pittsburgh region, helping individuals and families receive services or access resources that will assist them in meeting immediate and long-term needs for a better, sustainable future. More than 20 programs include mental health, behavioral health, early intervention, specialized learning, community-based family support services, substance abuse and addiction counseling, safe child visits, and energy assistance.
