What’s Happening Virtually
LEBO Library fundraiser
On Library Giving Day, April 23, the Friends of Mt. Lebanon Public Library will host their first-ever Stay at Home and Read Gala.
Instead of buying a ticket and going to an event, all you need to do is make a donation and enjoy your favorite book. The donation will support the programs, services and materials at the library.
To donate, visit mtlebanonlibrary.org and click on the Stay at Home and Read Gala tab to be directed to the Friends of the Library donation page. Make a donation any time leading up to or on April 23. Donations start $5 to participate.
Requested on Library Giving Day are photos of people reading to share on the library’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram page, or they can be emailed to nielsenm@einetwork.net to post. A picture of the book you’re reading is fine, too.
Online divorce workshop
A divorce workshop for women is scheduled by videoconference from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 25.
The workshop provides education and information on the legal, financial and emotional issues associated with divorce. Cost is $35 per person, and pre-registration and pre-payment is required to Donna at 724-493-9695.
Library programs
Mt. Lebanon Public Library has programs scheduled using the Zoom online platform.
Gabi Hughes from the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will speak about “Supporting Bees in Your Garden” from 7 to 8 p.m. April 22. The presentation includes information about how to make yards more pollinator-friendly, with specific native plant recommendations and practices.
The library’s new sci-fi film discussion group meets virtually from 7 to 8 p.m. April 23. The discussion will be about “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,” which can be watched for free via the Library service Hoopla, https://www.hoopladigital.com/.
The group is intended for adults.
Registration is limited and required for the programs. Each registrant will receive a Zoom meeting invitation prior to the program’s start.
