What’s Happening: Week of April 4
Dementia caregiver program
Artis Senior Living of South Hills in Bethel Park is hosting a program for families caring for someone with dementia.
Mary Underwood, vice president of memory care services for Artis, will discuss the Ethics of Lying. People with dementia sometimes ask questions that caregivers struggle to answer: How much of truth should I tell? If I am not truthful, am I lying to my loved one?
During the program, Underwood will present what is happening in the brain of someone with dementia, and how to answer their difficult questions in a way that feels ethical.
The presentation will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. April 29 via Zoom. Those interested should RSVP to southhills@artismgmt.com or 412-595-8917.
