BLOOM SPEAKS
Matt Bloom, Ph.D., will be the keynote speaker at the Pittsburgh Pastoral Care Conference being held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6 at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park. His topic is “Flourishing In Ministry,” and he will address how to thrive for the long term for clergy and caregivers.
A professor emeritus at the University of Notre Dame, where for more than 20 years he studied the nature of well-being in workplaces, especially for the caring professions, Bloom has led the Flourishing in Ministry and WorkWell research projects. He is the author of “Flourishing in Ministry: How to Cultivate Clergy Well-Being” (2019).
The program will feature 10 breakout sessions and address addiction and recovery, mental health and wellness, family and marriage, community outreach and reflections in ministry as well as a Bible study.

REAL ESTATE
The state of real estate will be discussed in a live Zoom and Facebook presentation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 11.
The event is presented by the Denis Theatre and is part of its Pittsburgh Perspectives series. Organization president Jon Delano of Mt. Lebanon moderates.
PASTA DINNER
Pittsburgh South Hills Elks Lodge is hosting a pasta dinner from noon to 7 p.m. May 14.
Tickets are $15, and proceeds from the dinner will offset the cost of shipping donated items to Ukraine.

Workers can earn between $150 and 175 for the day. There is paid training.

The 22nd annual event for kindergarten through fifth-grade students provides a “Cinderella-like magical evening” for young ladies and their adult male escort in celebration of Father’s Day.

The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) Traveling Glass Recycling Bin will be located at the South Fayette Municipal Building from May 7-12 and the Settlers Cabin Park wave pool parking lot from May 14-19. Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars and jugs of all colors (no color sorting required). Containers should be empty and rinsed, with lids and labels still on.
