FISHING DERBY
The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department and McMurray Rotary team up to bring the annual fishing derby to Peters Lake Park. The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 20. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade can participate. Pre-registration is required. Fee is $5 ($10 non-residents).
Prizes will be awarded.

GARAGE SALE
The Christian Women of St. John XXlll will hold a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 19 and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 20 in both halls of the St. Benedict the Abbot building in McMurray. Saturday will be half price the entire day.
There will be clothing for adults and children, jewelry, toys, crafts, linens, small furniture, tools, books, knick-knacks, vases, baskets, medical equipment, antiques, linens and bedding, holiday decorations and much more.
Refreshments will also be available for sale.
YOGA
Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will conduct a yoga class from 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 13 on the amphitheater stage in Peterswood Park.
Fee is $12 ($18 non-members).
Participants should bring mat, towel and water.

FLEA MARKET
A flea market will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Church of the Atonement located at 618 Washington Ave. in Carnegie.
Items for sale include: toys, sleeping bags, plants, kitchen items, pots and pans, rocker and purses. Some vendors will sell decorative towels, paparazzi’s jewelry, clothes, books, canister sets and puzzles.
Space is still available for vendors. Call Joyce at 412-276-0366 to register for a space. Vendors must provide table or blanket and chair.
KEYNOTES MUSIC
The Keynotes Music Scholarship group will hold its annual luncheon and fashion show starting at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 17 at St. Clair Country Club in Upper St. Clair. This annual fundraiser will also include live music, raffle, baskets and a local artist with shopping available.

VOLUNTEER OP
The Peters Township Community Day committee is looking for volunteers to help out with next year’s event scheduled for June 24, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Peterswood Park.
Help is needed with planning, soliciting donations and working with the raffle. Volunteers must reside, conduct business or have a history of one of the previous stipulations in Peters Township.

OLH FESTIVAL
Our Lady of Hope Parish summer festival will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 10-14 on the St. Valentine Church grounds located at 2710 Ohio St. in Bethel Park.

CLUB LEBO
A teen night and pool party will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Mt. Lebanon outdoor swim center.
Mt. Lebanon middle school students in grades six through eight can attend.
Admission is $8 ($6 before Aug. 11).
The Club Lebo, a lock-in program, offers events throughout the year for middle school students in an unstructured, yet supervised, environment.

GOLF OUTING
The 21st annual Crusader Classic Golf Outing will be held Aug. 29 at the Chartiers Country Club.
Golf begins with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Reception will be held at 4 p.m. followed by dinner and awards from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the Bishop Canevin High School tuition assistance program and campus improvements.

AARP PICNIC
AARP Chapter 3016 will host its summer picnic on Aug. 16 at Scott Park.
Additionally, the group meets the second Tuesday of each month, year-round, at the Unity Presbyterian Church located at 1146 Greentree Road. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Ages 55 and older can attend.
