Sue and Rich Radzik, right, became fast friends with Ronan and Arlo Boggs, left, who hopped inside Radzik’s 1926 Dodge to bounce on the leather seats and crank the windows. When Radzik’s restored classic ride won Best Mopar at the Carnegie Car Cruise, the Boggs brothers, of Moon, hoisted the trophy proudly while the Bridgeville couple laughed.

Music played and people peered into pristinely kept cars, which lined Main Street Aug. 13 during the annual Carnegie Car Cruise.
“I drive it everywhere,” said Bob Dempster, of Scott Township, who parked his 1936 Ford Cabaret across the street from Captain’s Clothing and chatted easily with interested passersby during the event.
The blue Ford took Dempster 22 years to build, and Dempster loves cruising in the powerful classic car.
Like Dempster, many car owners built their old cars, while others purchased and lovingly keep and show their vintage vehicles at events like the Carnegie Car Cruise.
Crowds moseyed down Main, ogling the myriad of vintage vehicles and modern rides, dropping into local boutiques and stopping for a bite from food trucks and good eats at local restaurants.
The Carnegie Car Cruise is a favorite annual borough event. The date for next year’s car cruise hasn’t yet been set, but you can keep up with all Carnegie’s goings-on by visiting http://carnegieborough.com/events.html.
