BOOK SALE

The Peters Township public library, located on East McMurray Road, is holding its holiday book sale from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until Dec. 23. The main lobby will feature used books, media and holiday favorites for purchase. For more information, call 724-941-9430.

CHANUKAH EVENT

The South Hills Lights Glow in the Dark community wide Chanukah event will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Dormont pool parking lot. In addition to the lighting of a giant Menorah, there will be music, face painting, glow-in-the-dark tent donuts, gelt drop and a Chanukah raffle for $18. Registration is encouraged. AUP CLUB

The Association of University People (AUP) will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 20 at Bella’s on Fort Couch, located at 91 Fort Couch Rd. RSVP to 412-862-7861 or email nl.hokaj@gmail.com. CHABAD LUNCH

A Chanukah seniors luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 21 at Chabad of the South Hills, located at 1701 McFarland Rd. in Mt. Lebanon. In addition to the holiday program, there will be hot latkes and raffle prizes. Suggested donation is $5. The event is wheelchair accessible. HOLIDAY KICKOFF

A winter break kickoff celebration will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 23 at the Peters Township library, located on East McMurray Road. Patrons can get a photo with Pittsburgh Penguins mascot Iceberg between 1 and 2 p.m. There will be holiday movies to view in the Teen Room. Crafts can be made in the multipurpose room. There will be free books to keep or check out books and movies for the holiday break. Each person who checks out five or more items will receive a ticket to win a prize basket. PT LIBRARY

A Noon Year’s Eve Party will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Peters Township Public Library, located at 616 East McMurray Rd. Adults, kids, and party-goers of all ages are welcome to play bingo, make a craft, enjoy party snacks, and help count down to 12 p.m. Registration is required at ptlib.org/noon. PRIME STAGE

AARP MEETS

The AARP Chapter 3016 meets every second Thursday of the month at Unity Presbyterian Church located at 1146 Greentree Road. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be served.
