Military panel discussion
Peters Township Public Library will welcome senior military officers from the U.S. Army War College for a panel discussion at 7 p.m. March 1 via Zoom.
The topic is “The Modernization of the Military While Maintaining Talent.” Based on the unknown future of warfare and the rise of near-peer global competition, the U.S. military has begun an investment strategy in modernization efforts while seeking to maintain the best talent across both the active and reserve component.
The panel will discuss the current ongoing initiates and seek to drive a discussion on those points.

American Legion fish fry
American Legion Post 760, 2409 Bethel Church Road, will hold takeout-only fish fries starting from 3 to 8 p.m. March 2 and continuing from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday during Lent.
The menu includes baked or fried fish, shrimp, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, haluski, french fries or potato chips, and lobster bisque soup. For more information, call 412-835-9690.
Elks fish fry
Pittsburgh South Hills Elks Lodge 2213, 2789 South Park Road, Bethel Park, will hold Lenten fish fries from 3 to 7 p.m. starting Ash Wednesday and continuing every Friday through Easter.
The menu includes fish or shrimp dinner with french fries and coleslaw, fish sandwich, shrimp in a basket, pierogies, onion rings and haluski. To order, call 412-831-0616.
USC’s ‘Seussical’
Upper St. Clair High School’s Performing Arts Department will present “Seussical” March 11-13 and March 16-19 in the school’s theater.
Directed by Tom Hunsberger, the curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. March 11-12 and March 17-19. A 2 o’clock matinee is offered on March 13.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $6 for students at www.usctheater.org. Adult ticket prices will increase to $15 starting on March 11. The box office will open for in-person ticket sales starting Feb. 28, during the following times: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 2, 7, 9, 14, 16; 10:30 a.m. to noon March 5; and one hour prior to show time.
Tickets for all shows can be picked up on any of the performance days.
Admission for Upper St. Clair’s senior citizens is free with a USC Gold Card. Gold Card holders must obtain their free theater tickets in person at the box office.
Masks are required to be worn while in Upper St. Clair School District facilities.
TOPS meeting
Take Off Pounds Sensible (TOPS) weight loss group Chapter No. 475, Carnegie, meets every Tuesday at Carnegie United Methodist Church, 415 Washington Ave. — Carnegie.
The cost to attend the meetings is $5 per month. Classes begin at 3:30 p.m. with a weigh in and run from 4 to 5 p.m. For more information, call Francis at 412-818-7489.
AARP meeting
AARP Chapter No. 3016 meets the second Thursday of each month at Unity Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Road. Doors open for the meeting at 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments are served at each meeting.
Anyone older than 55 is welcome to attend. The chapter has 259 members and has travel, programs and charity work.
