BOWLERS WANTED

Mature female bowlers of all skill levels are wanted to participate in a bowling league on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. at the Mt. Lebanon Lanes. Action starts Aug. 31 and continues for 33 weeks.

DIVE-IN MOVIE

A dive-in movie and swim party will be held July 22 at the Mt. Lebanon outdoor swim center.

Gates open at 7:30 p.m.

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition to the Disney movie “Luca,” there will be swimming, corn hole and ping-pong. The snack bar will be open. Admission is $5 (cash only) per person at the gate.

PARK MUSIC

Free concerts will be held Sundays at 7 p.m. in Mt. Lebanon park, on the basketball courts below the high school stadium.

The Good Guys Band performs classic oldies and hits on July 17.

The Rick Purcell Band, featuring Donna Groom, entertains July 31.

BOOK SALE

The Bethel Park Lions Club will hold a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 22 at Lions Park, 5757 Irishtown Road.

Thousands of items including hard- and soft-backed books, children’s books, young adult collections, manga/anime, CDs, DVD and VHS tapes along with puzzles are priced to sell at $1 or less.

A bag of books special will be held from noon to 1 p.m. and again from 8 to 9 p.m. All proceeds benefit Lions Club Charities.

SINGLES CLUB

The Association of University People (AUP) is looking for new members. To be eligible, one must be single, age 50 and older and be a four-year college graduate. The club conducts monthly dinners or meets at various social spots for gatherings, concerts, picnics and wine tastings.

The club’s next get-together will be held at 5 p.m. July 28 for dinner at Shiloh Gastro, 123 Shiloh Street, Mount Washington.

MUSICAL ON TAP

Stage 62 will perform Anything Goes at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. as well as Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. from July 22-31 at Carlynton Junior-Senior High School located at 435 Kings Highway in Carnegie.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $17 for seniors, students and groups. Tickets at the door are $25/$20.

This Broadway classic, featuring Cole Porter’s most magical score, is a hilarious shipboard romp with music, dance, and laughs entailing the age-old boy meets girls tale.

LADIES NIGHT

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will hold a Ladies Night crafting event from 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 28. Participants will create a lantern that can be displayed at home. Fee is $10 ($15 for non-members).

DOG DAYS

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate the dog days of summer from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at Shelter 4 in Peterswood Park.

Ages 3 to 5, accompanied by an adult, can participate. The event will include water games as well as an event to create an artistic masterpiece with water spray and paint. Appropriate clothing should be worn.

Fee is $5 ($8 non-members). Sign-up deadline is July 29.

PT MOVIE NIGHT

Christmas in July will be celebrated when the Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department presents “Christmas Vacation” during movie night on July 22. The show starts approximately at 9 p.m. at the Peterswood Park amphitheater.

Free Kona Ice will be served from 8 to 9 p.m. While supplies last, there will be free popcorn, giveaways and a guest appearance by Santa.

TWEEN NIGHT

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will host a tween night social for ages 9-12 from 6 to 8 p.m. July 22 at the community center.

The chaperoned event features games, crafts and snacks.

MAKE CHIMES

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will host a wind chime-making event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 18 at the community center. Ages 6 to 10 can create a garden wind chime. Fee is $10 ($15 for non-members).

PARK MUSIC

The Washington Symphony Orchestra will perform July 20 at 7 p.m. at the Peterswood Park Amphitheater.

Other acts and dates for the summer concert series are: Undercover (Top 40 Dances), July 27; The Prince Project (Prince and the Revolution Tribute), Aug. 3; The Nied’s Hotel Band (rock), Aug. 10, Dancing Queen (disco), Aug. 17.

Identity Crisis (variety) and Stampede (country-rock) will perform at 6 p.m. on Aug. 24 and Aug. 31 respectively.
