BLOOD DRIVE

A summer blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 3 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Rd.

INSTAGRAM 101

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation will offer a session on the ins and outs of the Instagram app. The class will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. July 12 at the community recreation center. Ages 55 and older are eligible. Participants should bring phone, computer or tablet and should download the app before class.

Fee is $5 ($8 non-members).

RUN CLUB

The Road Runner Indoor Track program for ages 6-10 will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning July 14 at the indoor track in the Peters Township Community Recreation Center. During the six-week session runners will learn track fundamentals, including racing, relays and hurdles.

PT PROGRAMS

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation offers several eight-week programs this summer for sports performance, karate and fitness for a variety of ages and skill levels.

Session classes start July 5. One-day programs are also available.

LEBO REC

The Mt. Lebanon Recreation Department offers the following programs: baseball clinics, chair yoga, developmental hockey leagues, discounted amusement park tickets, Hatha yoga, tennis clinics, learn-to-skate classes, instructional T-ball, Mad Science courses, pilates, platform tennis, luncheons for senior citizens, summer playground camp, summer art camp and Zumba.

The recreation department staff is available at 412-343-3409, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

ICE SKATING

The Mt. Lebanon Recreation Department offers a great place to cool off inside its ice skating rink.

Public sessions are held Fridays from 7:40 to 10 p.m. and 2:10 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sundays on the main rink. A Saturday session from 7:10 to 9 p.m. is offered on the studio rink.

Weekday morning sessions are held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday.

The ice center staff is available at 412-561-4363 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

SENIOR GAMES

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation offers games for seniors from 2 to 4 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month at the community center.

Banangrams will be featured July 28.

The events are free but pre-registration is required.

PSYCHIC FAIR

A mystical psychic fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 10 at the Library Fire Hall, 6581 Library Rd. in South Park.

SPAGHETTI DINNER

The Mon Valley Paws is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner at Felicia’s restaurant located at 459 Schoonmaker Ave. in Monessen for the entire month of August 2022. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatball, bread, salad, soft drink or coffee.

COIN CLUB

The South Hills Coin Club will be meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the Bethel Park municipal building located at 5100 West Library Ave. in Bethel Park. All members and the general public are invited. This month’s program will be the annual pizza party. A 50/50 will be offered and children’s prizes awarded. CRAFT SHOW

The First Presbyterian Church, located at 501 Fayette St. in Belle Vernon, will hold a “Christmas in July” craft and vendor show from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 30. Craft vendors and artists are need. TEA TIME

The Peters Township Historical Society will host a tea party at 11 a.m. July 9 at the Enoch Wright House located at 815 Venetia Rd.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

Tickets are $25 per person. Seating is limited.

DAYLILY SHOW

The Pittsburgh Iris and Daylily Society will host its annual daylily show July 2 at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel at the Meadowlands, 530 Racetrack Road, Washington.

Entries will be accepted from 8 to 10 a.m. It is not necessary to be a member of the Iris and Daylily Society to enter the show.

Judging will follow, and all entries can be viewed by the general public for free from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in the junior ballroom.

In addition to the show, the society will hold a plant sale.

FLEA MARKET

The Laboure Ladies Guild of St. Catherine Laboure Parish will hold its annual flea market, “Timeless Treasures,” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 23 in the LeGras Parish Center (lower level) of St. Louise DeMarillac Church, 320 McMurray Road, Upper St. Clair.

Sale items will include jewelry, decorative items, knick knacks, kitchen goods, linens, tools and gently used children’s clothing to size 6 and more. There will also be a boutique offering better items.

No strollers will be permitted in LeGras during the sale.
