‘IRELAND’ DOCUMENTARY
The Emerald Isle has come to the Steel City with the documentary “Ireland.” It’s at the Carnegie Science Center’s Rangos Giant Cinema through July.
It’s being shown in 3D and 2D and offers an immersive experience of Ireland. Narrated by Liam Neeson, the documentary explores the cultural heritage of the country, from Trinity College Library and the Book of Kells to views of the Cliffs of Mohr and the Giant’s Causeway. Led by writer and podcaster Manchan Magan, viewers will also follow four teens as they were explore their country and cultural origins.

ROAD RACE/WALK
The 15th annual Carnegie 5K run/walk will be held April 23.
Races start at 8 and 10 a.m. at the borough building located at One Veterans Way. Fees range from $10 to $25. Proceeds benefit the volunteer fire and rescue bureau.

BOOK SALE
A spring book sale will be held March 17-19 at the Castle Shannon Library located at 3677 Myrtle Avenue.
The hours of the sale are Thursday, 2 to 7 p.m.; Friday 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Saturday sales will be $6 for all books that can fit in a bag.
GALA IN PETERS
The “B” Together Night, benefiting Always B Smiling, will be held March 26 at the Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray.

CREATIVE CAMPS
Registration is being accepted for Camps for Creatives. These one-week, full-day camps cover a range of topics for students entering grades 1-12.
Spring Saturday Workshops are also available and offer something for everyone, from families with children ages 3 and up, to middle school and high school students, to adults.
All events take place in the Trust Arts Education Center located on Liberty Avenue in the Cultural District of Pittsburgh.

POINT PROGRAMS
Point Park University offers Summer In The City for youth and high school students to test the academic and career waters.
Offered at its Downtown campus, programs include accounting, animation, broadcasting, cinema arts, civic engagement, choreography, dance, esports, and theater. In addition, two new programs will be offered: radio/television broadcast and public relations and advertising.
Students have access to the university’s community and state-of-the-art facilities while experiencing hands-on, real-world learning and application. Programs are offered for residents and commuters.
All students are required to be fully vaccinated to participate.

WOODVILLE OPENS
Opening day at Woodville will be April 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The historic site will be open for house tours, candle making demonstrations and more.
Begun in 1775 and completed in 1785, Woodville is among Southwestern Pennsylvania’s oldest surviving homes and the site of a pivotal skirmish in the infamous Whiskey Rebellion of the 1790s.
