COOKIE SALE
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, located at 450 Maxwell Dr. in Whitehall, will hold its annual Christmas cookie sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 3.In addition to homemade cookies, nut rolls, apricot rolls, poppy seed rolls, raspberry rolls, nut horns, and lady locks will be available for purchase. Cookies will be sold by the pound ($15 per lb.). All other items will be priced accordingly.
BOOK CLUB
The Mystery Book Club will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Peters Township library, located on East McMurray Road in McMurray. The club meets in person or via Zoom the last Tuesday of each month, but there will be no meeting in December. Registration is required. PT GYM
Open gym hours for Nov. 28 at the Peters Township community recreation center have changed. The gym will be not be available from noon to 3 p.m. as well as 5 to 9 p.m.
TEEN SOCIAL
A teen volunteer social will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Peters Township recreation center. Sign-up deadline is Nov. 28. Email LMorris@peterstownship.com or call 724-942-5000. Teens aged 13 to 17 will work behind the scenes and help prep for the township’s holiday kickoff event. Teens can earn community service hours while learning new skills, socializing with peers and giving back to the community.
HOLIDAY TRIVIA

CHEER CLINIC
Mt. Lebanon will conduct a cheer clinic from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 10. Students in kindergarten through fourth grade can attend. Fee is $45. Participants will learn jumps, cheers and a dance and will be able to perform a routine during halftime of the boys’ basketball game on Dec. 16. At the clinic there will be crafts, games and a photo booth.

CHANUKAH EVENT
The South Hills Lights Glow in the Dark community wide Chanukah event will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Dormont pool parking lot. In addition to the lighting of a giant Menorah, there will be music, face painting, glow-in-the-dark tent donuts, gelt drop and a Chanukah raffle for $18. Registration is encouraged. CLUB PARTIES

WINTER CONCERT
The South Hills Chorale presents its winter concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at Christ United Methodist Church, located at 44 Highland Road in Bethel Park. BP CONCERT
The Dean Streator Holiday Concert will be held at 2:30 p.m Dec. 11 at the Bethel Park Community Center. The concert will feature performances by the Community Band South under the direction of Jim Bennett and Max Gonano; Bethel Park High School’s Top 21 chamber choir, conducted by Todd Kuczawa; and the Handbell Ringers of Southminster Presbyterian Church, Richard Pinkerton, Director. Admission is free but donations are welcome and help further the work of the Bethel Park Community Foundation, the event’s major sponsor.
WBN MEETING
The South Hills Chapter of the Women’s Business Network (WBN) meets at 8 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month while the group’s Mt. Lebanon Chapter meets at 8:30 a.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. All meetings are held at Panera Bread located in The Galleria on Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon.

The Peters Creek Historical Society’s annual “Soup and Stroll” open house will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Enoch Wright House located at 815 Venetia Road. In addition to homemade soup, there will be desserts and artisan bread available as visitors stroll through the decorated house that features the mining room, textile room and Charity Wright’s bedroom. Mt. Lebanon’s Uptown Winter Market and Holiday Celebration will kick off the holidays on Washington Road on Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be music, artists, makers, vendors, entertainment and all the traditional holiday elements such as the Southminster Handbell Choir and an elf hunt.

Collection boxes for the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys For Tots program have been placed at the Peters Township recreation center and public library. New, unwrapped gifts for children, from infancy to 14 years old, will be accepted until Dec. 11. The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department is offering a one-day bus trip to Oglebay on Dec. 8. The bus departs at 12:30 p.m. and returns to the community center at 10 p.m. Tourists will visit the Wheeling Glass Museum, take a self-guided tour of the Mansion Museum, shop at the stores at The Hilltop, dine at the Wilson Lodge, then take a guided tour of the Festival of Lights.
