Upper St. Clair presents ‘Lost in Yonkers’

1 min read

Upper St. Clair High School’s Performing Arts Department will present “Lost in Yonkers,” a play by Neil Simon.

This memory play is set in Yonkers in 1942. Bella is 35 years old, intellectually disabled, and living at home with her mother, stern Grandma Kurnitz. As the play opens, ne’er-do-well son Eddie deposits his two young sons on the elderly woman’s doorstep. He is financially strapped and taking to the road as a salesman. The boys are left to contend with Grandma, with Bella and her secret romance, and with Louie, her brother, a small-time hoodlum in a strange new world called Yonkers.

Directed by Tom Hunsberger, the curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 and Oct. 29. Matinee performances are offered at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30. All shows will be held in the Upper St. Clair High School theater.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $6 for students.

Admission for Upper St. Clair’s senior citizens is free with a USC Gold Card. Gold Card holders must obtain their free theater tickets in person at the box office.
