FOOD FEST
The Michaelmas Food Festival will be held from 6 to10 p.m. Aug. 17-19 in the Our Lady of Grace Church parking lot, 310 Kane Blvd. In addition to ethnic foods and desserts will be featured nightly performances by The Mansfield 5, Casanova & the Divas Band and The Soul Searchers.
UKRAINIAN EVENT
The Ukrainian Cultural and Humanitarian Institute will host a 32nd Ukrainian Independence Day Commemoration event from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, in the Carnegie Borough Building council chambers. Admission is free, and the public is invited.
Along with traditional Ukrainian foods like borshch, kovbasa (sausage) and dessert, Warm Hands Art Therapy will display and sell works by children in Ukraine, and other Ukrainian items will be available for purchase. Young guests can enjoy activities at the children’s corner while older attendees try their luck at the basket raffle. A short program commemorating Ukraine’s 32nd Independence Day will be performed, and representatives from UCHI’s Ukrainian Refugee Information Exchange program and social service providers will be on-site. All proceeds benefit the Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief Fund (UHRF) and Warm Hands Art Therapy Program.

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department is offering the following:
n Morning Walk’n Donuts for ages 55 and over from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at Peterswood Park. Fee is $5 ($8 nonmembers). Registration deadline is Aug. 15.
n Yoga in the park for ages 12 and over from 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 19 on the amphitheater stage in the park. Participants should bring mat, towel and water. Fee is $12 ($18 nonmembers).
n Teen volunteer social from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 at Shelter No. 2 in the park. Ages 13-17 will work behind the scenes and help prepare and plans for upcoming events while earning community service hours and socializing with peers.
n Yoga classes for kids, morning mash-up, mixed yoga and yoga flow at a variety of times and days in August at Peterswood Park and Rolling Hills Park.

The South Hills Elks 2213, 2789 South Park Rd. in Bethel Park, are collecting items for welcome home kits for veterans.
