CHABAD EVENTS
Chabad of the South Hills Mt. Lebanon will hold the following events:
n Babyccino, a chic meet for moms and tots, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 27. ELKS EVENT
The South Hills Elks 2213 will host an oldies but goodies dance from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 26 at its Bethel Park location at 2789 South Park Road. Menu is limited for this cash-only event. KNIT FESTIVAL
The Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival will be held Aug. 24-26 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Green Tree. There will be vendors and activities for those who knit, crochet, quilt and create. CARNEGIE MUSIC
The Tania Grubbs Quartet will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall on 300 Beechwood Ave. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. AUTHOR SHOWCASE
The West Jefferson Hills Historical Society’s local author showcase will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Jefferson Hills Municipal Building located at 935 Old Clairton Road. The free community event will feature author tables of multiple genres with signed copies available for purchase. Genres include Romance, Historical Fiction and Nonfiction, Inspirational, Folklore, Sports, Mystery, and Young Adult. A special Children’s Nook with five authors will have activities and crafts. Essays on favorite books by Jefferson Hills Intermediate students will be on display. There will also be food trucks from Banana Peppers, Bruster’s Ice Cream, and Coffee Tree Roasters on site.
