CLASS REUNION

The Mt. Lebanon Class of 1973 will hold its 50th reunion from June 9-11. Activities are being planned around town, including at Bado’s and LeMont Restaurants in Mt. Lebanon and Pittsburgh respectively. Visit mtlebo73.org for details and registration.

SENIOR GAMES

The Peters Township Community Recreation Center hosts its monthly senior game play day from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 26. The featured game will be Crazy Eights. While a free event, registration is required. Call 724-942-5000.

TEEN JEWELS

A jewelry workshop for grades 7 to 12 will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Peters Township Library, located on East McMurray Road. The class will provide supplies and instruction on how to create earrings, bracelets, or necklaces. The course is limited to 15. Registration required. PHIL’S SHADOW

The Peters Township Community Recreation Center will celebrate Groundhog Day with a special event for ages 3-5 accompanied by an adult. Children will make shadows and predict how soon spring will arrive. The event runs from 2 to 3 p.m. Feb. 2. Fee is $5 ($8 non-members). Registration required. Deadline is Jan. 31. Call 724-942-5000.

PT LIBRARY

The Peters Township Library hosts the following programs:

n Coloring & Classics on the first and third Thursday of the month. Participants color while listening to classic and conversing.

n WWII Discussion. The group meets from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the last Wednesday of every month. The series features topics about the war.

n Stamp Club. The group meets from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month. Participants share stamps and peruse the collections of other philatelists.

n Roots Genealogy Club. The group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month and shares resources, information and methods for exploring family history.

n Crochet Club. The group meets the second Thursday of the month. All levels welcome. Knitters can also attend. Bring projects or learn how to make a few stitches.

n Bingo. Seniors and their caregivers can attend. Games are played the first Tuesday of the month from 1 to 2 p.m. The next game is Feb. 7.

n Book Clubs. The afternoon group meets the third Wednesday of the month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” by Mark Haddon, will be discussed Feb. 15. The evening group meets from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month. “We Are Not Like Them,” by Christine Pride & Jo Piazza, (available at the reference desk) will be discussed Feb. 8. TARTAN DAY

Pittsburgh Tartan Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 15, at Bethel Presbyterian Church on Bethel Church Road. There will be vendors, food, clans, workshops, entertainment and raffles. BLOOD DRIVE

BP LIBRARY

The Bethel Park Public Library offers the following:

n Math Lab from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26. All levels of fifth- and sixth-grade math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and geometry will be reviewed.

n Shape UP at 10 a.m. Jan. 23 for ages 3 to 6 with a caregiver. This preschool storytime event is all about shapes.

n Talk Saves Lives at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 26. This American Foundation for Suicide Prevention talk provides an overview about prevention, including the most up-to-date research, and what can be done in communities to save lives. Participants learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.

CHABAD STUDY

The Jewish Learning Institute will launch Book Smart, a six-part page-turner that courses through Judaism’s most important titles, and the authors who inscribed them, at 7:20 p.m. Jan. 25 at Chabad of the South Hills or via Zoom.

SPACE CADETS

A junior space cadets program will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Jan. 25 in the multipurpose room at the Peters Township Community Center. Ages 3 to 5 will explore outer space through games, art and play. DIY PROJECT

PT FITNESS

Registration for the Peters Township Commit To Fit Challenge is being accepted at the community recreation center or at www.peterstownship.com. The event runs from Feb. 1 to 28. There is no fee for all Peters Township Recreation Center members. Participants walk along the indoor track and document their miles. The walker with the most miles wins a prize. Sign-up deadline is Jan. 31. Call 724-942-5000.

TEEN SOCIAL

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will hold a teen volunteer and social from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 31 at the community center. Ages 13 to 17 can attend and learn about working behind the scenes and helping to prep for an upcoming event. Participants can earn community service hours, learn new skills and socialize with peers.
