PIZZA DAY
Peters Township will celebrate National Pizza Day with a party at the community recreation center located on Meredith Drive in McMurray. The event set for 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 features crafts, games, refreshments and, of course, pizza. Ages 6 to 10 can attend. Fee is $8 ($12 non-member). TEA PARTY

COMEDY SHOW

SENIOR EVENTS
The Peters Township Community Recreation Center holds two events for senior citizens this month. A luncheon is offered from noon to 2 p.m. The Feb. 8 event will feature John Sarkis of the Skyliners. Scrabble will be played from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 23. RSVP to: 724-942-5000 for either event.
FLEA MARKET
The Church of the Atonement, located at 618 Washington Ave. in Carnegie, will hold a flea market from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Feb. 17 and 18, with a snow day on Feb. 20 if necessary. The market will close between noon and 1 p.m. on Feb. 18 to organize for the bag sale from 1 to 2 p.m. In addition to books and jewelry, there will be several porcelain baby dolls in their original boxes available. HELP WANTED
Volunteers are needed at Horses With Hope, which helps provide safe therapeutic riding and equine-assisted learning programs. A training session will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on March 11 at the site, located at 6235 Brush Run Rd. in Bethel Park. No experience is necessary. CUPCAKE WARS
The Bethel Park Library will conduct “Cupcake Wars” at 6 p.m. Feb. 15 for grades seven and up. Participants will be given a pantry of ingredients and a limited amount of time to turn cupcakes into themed designs that will be judged by a panel. ROUTE 19 KICKS
The Peters Township Library will host a virtual program on U.S. Route 19 from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 23. History Librarian Margaret Deitzer and Public Relations Coordinator Carrie Weaver will delve into the history of this road. From the Cheeseman Farm to Pal’s Restaurant, topics will discuss how this “road to the sunny south” came to be and the landmarks as documented in the library’s historical archives. ELKS DONATION
The Pittsburgh South Hills Elks Lodge 2213, located on South Park Road in Bethel Park, is accepted donations for welcome home kits for veterans. The Elks are collecting dishes, pots and pans, glasses, silverware, kitchen utensils, oven mitts, towels, baking sheets, toiletries, towels, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and brushes, shower curtains and liners, paper products, light bulbs, brooms, mops, buckets, sponges, laundry materials, bedding, toaster, microwave and blankets.

CLASS REUNION
A grand reunion is being planned for all students who attended St. Justin grade school or high school in Mt. Washington.
