Watercolor exhibit debuts at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden
Watercolor Works from the Garden will open March 16 in the welcome center of the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden.
This exhibition is the culmination of a two-year collaborative project between the garden and the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society (PWS) and features the works of 22 artists, all members of PWS, using various styles and techniques in water-based media.
PWS artists began visiting the garden in 2022 and produced these pieces from on-site sketches, photography, or plein air painting.
According to Keith S. Kaiser, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Executive Director, “The variety of pieces reflects the natural beauty of this region found throughout our 65 acres of gardens and woodlands. The purpose of our art exhibitions is to provide one more way to connect our visitors to plants, and share our message about their importance in our everyday lives. We appreciate all the talent being shared with our visitors.”
Sponsored by JLL, the public can meet the artists during a free reception set for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 16 in the welcome center.
Pre-registration is suggested by visiting PittsburghBotanicGarden.org or calling 412-444-4464.
Watercolor Works from the Garden will be on display through June 25.
