Though the haunted train’s passengers are ghoulish themselves, it’s the hijacking skeletons that are the bad guys in the Contis’ creation.

Those interested in seeing the Conti’s Halloween decorations can find them along Julrich Drive in Peters Township.

Pat and Terry Conti of Peters Township have been coming up with elaborate Halloween decorations for 20 years. They originally started the seasonal tradition at their home in Monroeville and continued when they moved to Julrich Drive in Peters Township in 2016. This year, they put together a haunted train pulling into a train station. The train’s spooky passengers find themselves under attack by a band of skeletons. Pat said it took him 160 hours to build the display and another two days to assemble. The wood was all donated by G.S. Kusich Construction in Greenville. Terry designs the costumes worn by the characters. She said she and her husband work together on how to stage the displays and what “story” they are trying to tell. Pat and Terry say their neighbors and trick-or-treaters always enjoy seeing what they come up with. “If our neighbors and kids didn’t enjoy it, we wouldn’t do it,” Pat said.
