FLU SHOTS

A senior flu shot clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Peters Township Community Recreation Center located at 700 Meredith Dr. Insurance cards should be brought to appointments. Call 724-942-5000 to register.

PT LIBRARY

The Peters Township library, located at 616 East McMurray Rd., offers the following:

Growing Great Garlic from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27. Free to all ages over 18. Dr. Candy DeBerry will present.

Medicare Basics from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2.

Bingo for seniors and caregivers from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 3.

A visit with Nick Courage from 4 to 5 p.m. Oct. 3. Grades 4 to 8 can attend and compare their writing to the author as well as ask questions.

A visit with Rachel Ekstrom Courage from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3. Grades 7 to 12 can attend. The author/agent will present a behind-the-scenes look at publishing.

Paranormal or Normal from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4. Author Emily Rodavich shares and explores mystical interludes, which are unexpected, timely experiences that are either fleeting or significant and defy explanation and logic.

Sharing Stories of Infant Loss from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Oct. 5. Joann Cantrell, author of “Carried Within Me – Echoes of Infant Loss” will lead a discussion and offer support for bereaved parents.

Boos, Brews and Books from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 14. This after-hours Halloween event for adults 18 and over is free, but food and beverages are available for purchase. There will be a scavenger hunt, Tarot readings, crafts and other activities.

GIANT OAKS

The Giant Oaks Garden Club will meet at 11:15 a.m. Oct. 5 at Saint David’s Episcopal Church, located at 905 McMurray Rd. Transferring plants indoors will be the topic of discussion. A representative from Bedner’s Farm & Greenhouse will provide tips and care for plants after their move. Fee is $6. Guests are welcome but must register by calling 724-470-6170.

ADOPT A PET

The Creatures of The Creator (COTC) Pet Ministry of Unity Presbyterian Church will host Animal Adoption Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the parking lot and indoors at 1146 Greentree Road. Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, Animal Advocates, Cats N’At, 4 Walls Fosters, Furkins Rescue, The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania Rescue, People’s Animal Care & Rescue and Wishbone Pet Care/Animal Sanctuary will be among the organizations supplying healthy, adoptable pets to the rain-or-shine event. CHABAD EVENT

A Seniors in the Sukkah event will be held Oct. 4 at the Chabad of the South Hills. Luncheon will be held at noon and an immunization clinic will be held at 12:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $5. Pre-registration is required. Event is wheelchair accessible. Call 412-278-2659.

COIN CLUB

The South Hills Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 2023 at the Bethel Park Municipal Building located at 5100 West Library Ave. Coins that talk will be the topic. SP BINGO

Bingo will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Nov. 4 at the South Park Home Economics Building, 2050 Buffalo Dr. Admission is $40 and includes 10 rounds of bingo, dinner, cash prizes and baskets. CRAFT SHOW

The St. Raphael the Archangel holiday craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Sts. Simon & Jude Grade School gymnasium, located at 1625 Green Tree Road in Scott Township. In addition to 65 craft tables, there will be a Chinese auction, bake sale and lunch items to purchase. Parking and admission is free.

ARTISAN MART

The Upper St. Clair League for the Arts will hold its Sugarplum Artisan Marketplace from Nov. 9-14 at the McLaughlin Run Road activity center. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 9-11 and Nov. 13. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday.

ART FESTIVAL

Mt. Lebanon’s annual juried arts festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in the Academy lot, located on Academy Avenue behind The Saloon and Rollier’s Hardware. The artist’s market, sponsored by the Mt. Lebanon Partnership, will include 60 to 80 booths featuring professional quality original art in a variety of media. The free event will also offer food and entertainment.

NURSES CLUB

The Southwestern Registered Nurses Club will hold a fall harvest brunch scholarship fundraiser at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 1 at Salvatore’s, 5001 Curry Road in Baldwin Borough. Doors open at 11. Cost is $35. Reservation deadline is Sept. 25. Call 724-229-7577.

DIY PUMPKIN

ART SHOW

South Arts Pittsburgh is holding an art show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Schoolhouse Art & History Center, located at 2600 South Park Road. The Bethel Park Historical Society will also hold its open house from noon to 3 p.m. and conduct tours. The event also coincides with the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company open house across the street.

CARD PARTY

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. Anne’s Division 21, will host an Irish fling card party and luncheon from 11:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 7 in Benedict Hall of South Hills Catholic Academy, 550 Sleepy Hollow Road. CRAFT SHOW

The South Park Women’s Club will host its annual craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at Broughton Fire Hall, 1030 Cochrans Mill Road.
