Taste of the Township a delicious success
“It was a who’s who of Peters Township,” said Pier Lee, Peters Township Public Library director of the crowd of more than 430 at the 12th Annual Taste of the Township on April 19, a benefit for the library.
Valley Brook Country Club was packed as guests sampled everything from appetizers like bacon-wrapped sausage-filled dates from Bella Sera and mini stuffed grape leaves by Freddie’s II to main courses that included Parmesan-crusted chicken from Giant Eagle, Cajun salmon from The Capstone Grill and even pasta made in a wheel of cheese right in front of guests by Arlecchino Ristorante. Dessert samplings were courtesy of Cookies by Susan, Edible Arrangements, Juniper Grill, Bethel Bakery and Dozen Bake Shop, which is slated to open in June at the courtyard in Donaldson’s Crossroads.
Nearly 30 area restaurant hot spots were on hand. A Chinese auction and raffle added to the funds raised, totalling more than $33,000, a figure Lee said she is “very happy with.”
