Water company continues work in Green Tree & Mt. Lebanon
Motorists need to continue exercising caution as the Pennsylvania Water Company continues replacing aging water main along Greentree Road, between Carnahan and Cochran Road in Green Tree Borough.
The approximately $6 million project is replacing pipe that was originally installed in the early 1930s. Pennsylvania American Water and its contractor, Casper Colosimo & Sons, Inc, have closed lanes in both directions along Greentree Road between Carnahan Road and Cochran Road. Crews continue to install new ductile iron pipe weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The company expects to complete the project in late December, weather permitting.
Crews also are replacing customer service lines between Cochran Road to McMonagle Road in Scott Township during the same project hours, requiring intermittent lane closures. Installation of the new service lines is expected to be completed in November, weather permitting.
Pipe improvements began in the summer of 2012, when the company replaced approximately 5,500 feet of aging pipe along Greentree Road between Cochran Road and McMonagle Road. Motorists should find alternative routes and avoid the project area.
During construction, the company does not expect any disruptions to customers’ water service.
