Rori Blair’s stepmother is Monika Marczak not Kharda Manfoud as indicated in the info box that accompanied the feature on the Upper St. Clair lineman in last week’s Almanac. Mohamed, Deon and Elijah are Manfoud’s sons, with whom Blair is close. Blair does have one sister. Her name is Tai Kenney. Blair suffered a stroke in the spring of 2012 and while his memory and speech were impacted, he has returned to play his final season of football for the Panthers this fall.
The Montour Trail Half-Marathon and 5K run will be held Sept. 7 beginning in The Mall at Robinson parking lot. Start times are 8 a.m. for the 13.1 distance and 8:20 for the 3.1-mile race.
Late registration will be held September 5-6 at Elite Runners and Walkers, 5992 Steubenville Road in Robinson Township, or on the morning of the race. Call 412-496-7698 for more details.
An NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair. Ages 6-15 are eligible. Entry forms are available at NFLPPK.com, twpusc.org, or from the community center.
Paul Schlachter finished as the first alternate in the USGA Senior Amateur sectional qualifier. Hosted by the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association, the event was held on the par 71 course at the Indiana Country Club.
The Bridgeville shot a 35-36-71 as did Don Erickson of DuBois. However, Erickson earned the qualifying spot.
Mackenzie and Maggie Dokmanovich successfully participated in the Potter County qualifier and traveled to the North Central District VIII 4-H Horse Show held recently at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Brookville, Pa.
Mackenzie qualified in Western grooming and showmanship junior division, western pleasure ponies (over 13 hands, not over 14.2) and Western horsemanship junior rider with Zips Fire N Ice and in miniature horse driving junior division with Raders Irsul The Third.
Maggie qualified in English grooming and showmanship junior division and Hunter Under saddle ponies (13 hands and under) with Stone Ridge Serendipity and in miniature horse driving junior division with Cross Country Ragdoll.
They are the daughters of Patrice and Michael Dokmanovich of Bethel Park and granddaughters of Georgia Murphy.
The Peters Township Chamber Chase 5K run/walk will be held Oct. 19 at the Peterswood Trail. For more details call 724-941-6345.
Mt. Lebanon’s learn-to-skate group lessons for the fall begin Sept. 9. Fees are $110 for 40-minute classes or $100 for the 30-minute sessions. USFS membership is included.

Tour the Montour will be held Sept. 21. The bicycle ride begins at the trail’s mile zero marker, located at Route 51 and Montour Road, just off I-79 and the Coraopolis/Neville Island Bridge.
Rides vary in length from a 6-mile family fun ride through a metric century (62 miles) and start between 7:15 – 8:15 a.m.
Fees range between $25 and $45 for adults and families pre-registering before Sept. 6. Fees increase to $30 and $50 after this date.

Learn-to-swim group lessons, from beginners through pre-competitive, will be offered by the Upper St. Clair Swim Club at the high school pool.

Registration for the Pacer Track Club’s cross country season will be held Sept. 3 prior to the team’s first practice at the Gilfillan Trail, located off Route 19 between South Hills Village Mall and Upper St. Clair High School.
Fee is $35 plus USATF membership dues of $20.
Practices are held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. Ages 8-13 are eligible. No experience required.
