Obscene graffiti found on South Fayette school buildings
South Fayette police Chief Louis Volle called obscene graffiti spray painted on buildings, pillars, sidewalks and a Toys For Tots truck on the school campus early Dec. 17, “total bull, and it cheapened everything about South Fayette.”
Officials discovered the damage at about 6:30 a.m. and school officials had removed the offensive graffiti by 9 or 10 a.m.
The school district has numerous surveillance cameras in the area and Volle said police and school officials are reviewing the tapes. The chief also said several students have been interviewed.
When apprehended, Volle said the offender or offenders will be charged with institutional vandalism, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and “whatever else we can do. If we find they went through a stop sign, we’ll charge them with that too.”
The inappropriate vandalism on the school campus was the only vandalism in the area, Volle said.
