4Sight Testing will be administered the week of January 6-10 for all Bethel Park third and fourth graders. Parents are encouraged to make sure their children get a good night’s sleep on testing days and eat a nutritious breakfast, and talk to their children about the importance of relaxing and doing their best on the tests.

Canon-McMillan School District winter break ends with classes resuming Monday, Jan. 6.

Registration for Mt. Lebanon High School’s preschool program is now open. To be eligible, children must be at least age 3 ½ years old and no older than 4 years, 10 months by March 17, 2014. The program is operated by high school students enrolled in the Advanced Child Development Course under the supervision of the child development teacher. The program runs from March 17-May 22, Monday through Thursday from 9:10-10:40 a.m. The cost is $65. Registration deadline is Feb. 14. For information, call 412-344-2023.

The PTHS Student Council is sponsoring a jeans drive to provide jeans for homeless teens in our area. The new or gently used jeans may be dropped off at Peters Township High School, Middle School, McMurray Elementary or Peters Township Public Library until Jan. 24.
