The Bethel Park Lions Prize Party will be held March 9 at the Bethel Park Community Center. The fun evening includes hors d’oeuvres, a buffet, cocktails and beverages. The evening begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $50 each with a $1,000 grand prize.

• The Police Pals will play the Pittsburgh Steelers Basketball Team at 8 p.m. March 8 in the Bethel Park High School gymnasium. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at Evey Hardware and Eat ‘N Park, both on Route 88, during regular business hours. Tickets may also be purchased at the Bethel Park Police Records Room from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Tickets at the door will be $9. Pregame activities will include a game between the Bethel Park Police Department and the Bethel Park Fire Department starting at 6:15 p.m. Concessions will open at 5:30 p.m. There will be an opportunity to get autographs during halftime.
Proceeds help fund the Police Pals Programs and the Sgt. Charles Boczek/Bethel Park Police Association Scholarships. Last year, $500 scholarships were awarded to 11 students who attended the Law Enforcement Apprenticeship Program.
A borough manager is being sought for Canonsburg and its population of 8,900. There is a seven-member council and a $4.3 million budget. The position requires a bachelor’s degree with emphasis in public administration or government or business. Applicants must have three to five years work experience in municipal government. Salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience. Castle Shannon Senior Association will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 23 in the basement of the Castle Shannon Library. Guest speaker will be new State Rep. Erin Molchany. Listen to what she has planned to do for seniors. Coffee and donuts will be served afterward.
There will be a make-up session Feb. 23 for the Little Dribblers Basketball program that was cancelled Feb. 9.
• Vacancies exist on the Recreation and Community Activities Board, Zoning Hearing Board and the Traffic Advisory Board. Recreation meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the municipal center. Meetings for the Zoning Hearing Board are held as appeals are received and are held in council chambers. The Traffic Advisory Board meets on an as-needed basis in council chambers.

The Mysthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania at Allegheny General Hospital invites all sports fans and collectors to the 19th Annual Sports memorabilia auction from 3-7 p.m. April 7 at the Club at Nevillewood. Ellis Cannon will serve as host and John Phillips from The Fan sports talk radio will serve as auctioneer.
Pittsburgh Pirates alumni Steve Blass, former Steeler Marv Kellum and lightweight boxing champ Rod Salka will be among the sports celebrities to sign free autographs.
There will be about 100 autographed items available for bidding from Maurkice Pouncey, Antonio Brown, James Neal, Starling Marte and more. All proceeds benefit the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania American Water announced the start of construction to repair a portion of aging water main along Boyce Road. The approximately $70,000 project will support maintenance on a section of the water main that was originally installed in the early 1950s.
Pennsylvania American Water and its contractor, Casper Colosimo & Sons, Inc, will replace the existing 36-inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe with new ductile iron. The work will impact Boyce Road from Lawn Shadow Drive to Summit Ridge Drive. The road will be closed at 7 a.m. Feb. 27, through March 1.
Southbound motorists are advised to take Washington Pike/Morganza Road, east on McMurray Road, and north on Route 19 back to Boyce Road. Northbound motorists are advised to use the same detour in reverse.

• The township is accepting applications for a part-time Code Enforcement Assistant. Applicants must be a high school graduate or hold a GED, and have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. Residency in the township is not required, but could be a factor in selection.

The next electronic recycling program will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. March 9 in the township parking lot near Clair’s Kennel. Electronic items no longer collected curbside but accepted at the recycling program include CD players, keyboards, printers, copiers, cellular telephones, scanners, radios and televisions.
Fluorescent and CFL bulbs will be accepted with a $1 per bulb charge.
