Bridgeville Library adds four new board members

By The Bridgeville Public Library Has Added Four New Board Members To Its Board Of Directors. 2 min read

Long-time members Nino Petrucelli, Mary Weise and Elaine Salizonni left the board when their terms expired at the end of the year. All three were instrumental in building the new library on McMillen Street and facilitating the move from the former train station building.

“It’s a new board, and a new direction for the (library). For the first time, the board will include members from neighboring communities, which is a true representation of our library’s patronage,” said Becky Wisbon, new president of the board.

Kim Losego, advisory board member, said the new library will be “getting a lot more use.”

Every month, the library will see activities including concerts, art exhibits and other forms of art. John McDonald and the Mango Men, A Winter Margaritaville Concert, will be featured Feb. 23.

The objective of the shows are to provide a Center of the Arts for local artists, to bring awareness to the library, and to put a beautiful $4 million dollar facility into use, said Joyce Heinrich, fundraising coordinator.

The current board of directors include Wisbon, president; new member William O’Connor, vice president; Cindy Ghelarducci, treasurer; new member Michael Aquilina, secretary; Pauline Bontargz, Friends of the Library representative; and new members John Oyler and Patte Kelly.

The non-voting advisory board is also growing and is a diverse group.

“People from all walks of life and backgrounds have shared their concern about our financial situation,” Wisbon said. “The Advisory Board is comprised of artists, accountants, attorneys, marketers, opera singers and homemakers. It is a very diverse, educated and energetic group who are willing to work and support the Board of Directors in change. It’s an exciting time for the Bridgeville Public Library and for the community.”
