Meetings set on county parks projects

Allegheny County and the Allegheny County Parks Foundation will host two public input meetings to discuss improvement projects in North Park and South Park. Residents are encouraged to attend the meetings to learn about the projects and to provide feedback and comments.

The North Park public meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Rose Barn located on Pearce Mill Road. GAI Consultants will present schematic design options for the North Park Lake Trail Gateways and Municipal Row Path. An open forum and public discussion to gather input will follow the presentation.

The South Park public meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at the South Park Home Economics Buildings. Pashek Associates will present the design options for the South Park Fairgrounds Oval improvements. An open forum and public discussion to gather input will follow the presentation.

Also on Jan. 23, County Executive Rich Fitzgerald will attend the Friends of South Park monthly meeting at 6 p.m. at the Buffalo Inn to discuss the County and Parks Foundation’s plans to improve the South Park Fairgrounds Oval and to listen to feedback and comments from the Friends group.
