The Almanac launches new website
By now, you might have noticed that things look a bit different at www.thealmanac.net. The new site is the latest in The Almanac and the Observer Publishing Company’s efforts to adapt with ever-changing technology. In addition to a fresh, new look, news stories and sports game recaps will be available sooner, and full color photos, as well as photo galleries, will accompany the stories.
In redesigning the site, we looked at its organization, and have categorized stories so that they are easy to find – from school news to South Hills news to arts and entertainment. It is all accessible with the click of a mouse.
Also, the commenting feature is back. In order to use it, just register on the site by clicking register at the top of the page and providing your name and email address, or register using your Facebook account.
Don’t worry – our award-winning print product will remain, as will the free e-edition. The Almanac and thealmanac.net will work together to bring you the latest community news, features, and sports coverage. You will also have the ability to share the stories via Facebook, Twitter and a variety of other social media platforms with the click of a button.
