Please stop the name calling
This letter is in response to the editorial in The Almanac dated July 3 concerning a victory for same sex couples. As a Christian man, I believe in God’s definition of marriage that states marriage is a holy sacrament between one man and one woman. This is God’s law and man cannot legally change it to include persons of the same sex. I have no problem with homosexual couples having civil unions. Just don’t call it a marriage. God’s plan is for children to be raised by a male father and a female mother joined together in matrimony.
I was offended by the editorial author who stated “We live in an era where ridiculous religious zealots strike out against same-sex couples because the bible says it’s wrong.” As a Christian I would not resort to name calling with those who disagree with me. We are all entitled to our own opinions but name calling does not solve any problems.
Whether you believe in God and His commands or not the truth is that someday we are all going to die and we will each have a one on one meeting with our Creator and He will be the ultimate Judge on how we lived our lives on this earth and where we will spend eternity.
