Pittsburgh Mercy Health System (PMHS) will auction a number of fun and unique items to benefit Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh, a PMHS arts-in-education program whose mission is to build social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children through the art and practice of ballroom dance. The program has benefited more than 2,000 children in Pittsburgh Public and Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh elementary schools since 2009.
The items that will be up for bid during the June auction are available for viewing at biddingforgood.com/pmhsauction. Bids may be placed through 9 p.m. June 16. Bid on Pittsburgh Pirates Lexus Club tickets, a $100 Pampered Chef gift certificate or passes to the Carnegie Science Center.

Mara Rayburg and Sarah Bisignani, students at Peters Township Middle School and members of the schools lacrosse team, are selling paracord survival bracelets to raise money for Huntington’s Disease research. The girls started making the bracelets as a way to honor their youth lacrosse coach, Katy Phillips, and her mother, Marian, who passed away from the disease. The bracelets, made by Mara and Sarah, are $5 and can be purchased online at www.hdparacord.webs.com.
Our Lady of Grace School will hold its 11th Annual Golf Outing at Lindenwood Golf Club on June 7.
Darieth Chisolm from WPXI, It Works and Fullbody Fitness will emcee. The event will include dinner and raffle prizes. Tickets are available for dinner only and a chance at auction items and prizes.
The event helps to raise funds for the school, students and also helps maintain tuition costs.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will host the third annual Pitch for Hope Women’s Baseball clinic, a baseball skills workshop, June 30 for women 14 years of age and older.

Mt. Lebanon Village’s Generations Swinging Together golf outing and picnic dinner takes place July 19 at the Mt. Lebanon Golf Course.
The outing is being held in partnership with the Mt. Lebanon Girls and Guys golf teams, benefiting the teams and Mt. Lebanon Village.
The golf even includes a clinic with local golf pro and Mt. Lebanon Commission Matt Kluck, and will be followed by a picnic dinner catered by Pittsburgh BBQ Company, a dessert dash and Chinese auction. The Pink Tie Affair, an organization which provides financial support to men and women in the Pittsburgh area who are challenged with breast cancer, will hold a golf outing beginning at 10 a.m. June 22 at Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth. There will be a Chinese auction, raffles and mulligans. All proceeds will go directly to men and women facing breast cancer.

Area Chick-fil-A restaurants invite the community to register for its 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run taking place Aug. 17. All proceeds will benefit Pirates Charities The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. at PNC Park with the 1-Mile Fun Run beginning at 9 a.m. To register for the event, participants can visit www.cfaraceseries.com. The registration fee for individuals who sign up before Aug. 17 is $25, while the fee for those who sign up on race day is $30. For groups of four or more runners, a 10 percent discount will be granted to the total registration cost.
