Canonsburg Italian-American Association will hold its annual picnic at 6 p.m. June 21 at Consol Energy Park during a Washington Wild Things game.

• The Second Sunday Concert Series in Town Park will kick off at 6:30 p.m. June 9 featuring Abiline making its first appearance. The concert is free. Music will include country, rock and jazz.
Inspection work will continue through May 30 on the bridge that carries Noblestown Road over Robinson Run, weather permitting.
Single lane closures will occur as needed in both directions on the bridge, weekdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Three lanes of traffic will remain open at all times. Crews from CDM Smith will conduct the inspection.
Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania will upgrade existing facilities with a $970,000 project to replace more than 8,000 feet of existing pipe with state-of-the-art plastic pipe on Lincoln and Johns avenues, Bennett Place, and McDonald, Barr, O’Hara, Miller, Railroad and Johnston streets.
Construction will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m.-5 p.m. with possible lane closures and detours during working hours. The project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
Construction work will require a temporary interruption of natural gas for individual customers when their service is connected to the new gas main. Columbia Gas will make personal contact with customers before shutting off service.
Woody Waste Curbside Collection will be held June 8. To make reservations, call public works at 412-343-3403 between June 3 and no later than 4:30 p.m. June 6 to have the yard waste (limited to shrubs, tree branches and limbs) picked up at curbside. A celebration of Canonsburg Lake’s 70th anniversary and a fundraiser will be held from 7-9 p.m. June 3 at Juniper Grill, 4000 Washington Road. Those unable to attend may contribute by mailing checks payable to “Save Canonsburg Lake” WCWA, 760 Lakeside Drive, McMurray, PA 15317.
