CLUBS

Bridgeville Area Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. May 28 at the Bridgeville Vol. Fire Department. Todd DePastino will speak on the Great Depression, March of 1932.

Southwestern PA Registered Nurses Club recently awarded scholarships totaling $13,500. Recipients of scholarships are Tyler Hanna, Monique Laing, Amanda MacDonald and Samantha Maize. Three additional scholarships were donated by families of deceased members. Angela Oliverio received the Judy Breidigan Memorial award, Julia Rose Parquette received the Lenora Weaver Memorial award and Amanda Porter was awarded the Mary Agnes Power Memorial scholarship. WORKSHOPS

Third Street Gallery, Carnegie, will host a workshop on the art of writing comedy at 7 p.m. June 5, 12, 19, 26. “Screenplays” is a 90-minute course on writing a screenplay with an emphasis on comedy.

Cost is $125. A $25 discount is offered to those holding a current student ID.

Course advisor Mike Buzzelli is a stand-up comedian and published author.

Pittsburgh Wine Festival will hold a wine seminar, “Pinot Noir-the Other Great Red Wine” at 6 p.m. June 11 at the Sheraton Station Square. Taste wines from California, Oregon, France and New Zealand. Cheese and baguettes will be included. Cost is $50.
