At Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, the annual Chanukah Toy Drive for hospitalized and underprivileged children will be held through Nov. 26. Drop off new, unwrapped toys at Chabad or at The Galleria of Mt. Lebanon (second level, near fountain) from 3-5 p.m. Dec. 1 during Chabad’s Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting. • Men’s Thanksgiving Breakfast is set for 8 a.m. Nov. 23, featuring guest speaker SuJo John, who was in the North Tower of the World Trade Center when the first plane struck on 9/11. His pregnant wife, Mary, worked on the 71st floor of the South Tower.
• The sermon series “Preparing Our Hearts for Christmas” will be offered Nov. 30-Dec. 1.?The book “Advent-Preparing for Christmas,” published by The Journey with Ron Moore, is available in the Chapter 2 Bookstore and online and includes a CD of 10 Christmas carols performed by the Worship Arts team of The Bible Chapel.
• A dinner is offered at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays for $6/person or $20/family, followed by programs at 6:30, which include Revi Clubs for kids, Roots Student Ministry and Bible Institute for adults.

At St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Canonsburg, a Thanksgiving bake sale will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 23.
At St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carnegie, the Carnegie Area Ministerial Association will hold a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Nov. 24, with the Rev. Dr. Stewart Blair as the homilist. Clergy from area churches will participate. Music will be provided by a choir consisting of singers from ministerium churches.

At St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park, reservations are being accepted until Dec. 1 for the Santa Breakfast that will take place 8:30-11 a.m. Dec. 7. The event will feature games, prizes, face painting, a balloon artist, magician, music, dance party and gift bags for all children. At Baldwin Community U.M. Church, the women’s group will hold its annual homemade cookie sale 9-11 a.m. Dec. 14 to benefit missions. Cookies will be sold for $8 per pound.
At Fawcett U.M. Church, Bridgeville, the Christian Crafters are collecting items for its Christmas shoe box ministry for Native American children. Fleece blankets for infant to preteens are also being made. Needed are two yards of fleece material, slippers, socks, mittens, gloves and hats as well as small toys and books.
