At Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, new unwrapped toys will be accepted at Chabad, or at The Galleria of Mt. Lebanon (second level, near fountain) from 3-5 p.m. Dec. 1 during Chabad’s Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting. Free admission. At The Bible Chapel, McMurray, GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21.

• Fill any standard-sized shoebox with school supplies, hygiene items, toys and hard candy/gum for Operation Christmas Child. At St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Canonsburg, a Thanksgiving bake sale will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 23.

At St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carnegie, the Carnegie Area Ministerial Association will hold a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Nov. 24, with the Rev. Dr. Stewart Blair as the homilist. Clergy from area churches will participate. Music will be provided by a choir consisting of singers from ministerium churches.

At Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon, Community Bible Study holds its fall nondenominational study from 7-8:40 p.m. Mondays. This year’s study will be the Book of Romans and its relevance to daily life. Topics include: Who is righteous in God’s eyes? Is God for us or against us? How do we love one another? At Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, an Advent through the Eyes of Those Who Waited will take place at 10 a.m. Thursdays, beginning Nov. 21. Child care available.

At Christ U.M. Church, Bethel Park, its Heavenly Cookie Shoppe will be open 9-11 a.m. Dec. 7. Choose from cookies, goodies or craft items. Cookies are $8/ lb. Proceeds benefit missions.

At Meadowlands U. M. Church, Fawcett U.M. Church will sponsor a spaghetti dinner 3-6 p.m. Nov. 23. Proceeds will benefit Kim Dunn, who is battling cancer.

At St. Thomas More Church, Bethel Park, the Middle School Youth Gathering will begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 24. Grades six-eight will participate in games, faith-filled fun and a pizza party.
