The Joe Negri Trio, including Joe Negri, Max Leake on keyboards and Tony DePaolis on bass guitar, will perform at the Bridgeville Public Library from 7-10 p.m. Dec. 19. The concert opens with Anne Winters and Kim Losego. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The affair is BYOB and doors open at 6 p.m.
• Luminarias are available for sale and can be picked up at the fire hall from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 15. Cost of $15 for 24 luminarias includes bags, sand and candles. Orders must be prepaid. For more information or to place an order, call the fire department at 412-221-1711.
Santa Claus will arrive at the Carnegie borough building at noon Nov. 30. All children will receive a gift from Santa and a gift bag full of surprises. Call the Carnegie Children Event Committee with questions at 412-249-8996. Borough light-up night is at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in the PNC Bank parking lot, 2 W. Main St. Santa will attend and warm hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be served.
The Carnegie police department, along with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, are participating in the Toys for Tots campaign. New, unwrapped toys are being collected from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays, through mid-December at the Carnegie borough building, 1 Veterans Way.
The next meeting of the Historical Society will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 18 in the municipal building meeting room.
The public hearing for the proposed 2014 budget will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Sycamore Room of the municipal center.
Two events will be held Dec. 1 and both are sponsored by the township’s recreation center and public library.
The first is Frosty’s Fun House from 2-4 p.m. at the recreation center for those ages 10 and under. Parents must remain with their children during the event. There is a $5 fee for residents and an $8 fee for nonresidents.
At 6 p.m., Santa will arrive at the library in a red fire truck. There will be music, crafts and refreshments following the tree lighting in front of the library. The event is free and all ages are welcome.

Home Instead Senior Care is teaming with nonprofit agencies and area retailers to sponsor Be a Santa to a Senior, a program that collects, wraps and delivers gifts to lonely and needy seniors in Southwest Allegheny and Washington counties. The program runs through Dec. 9 with holiday trees in area stores and businesses. There will be a community gift wrapping party Dec. 12 and gifts will be delivered to seniors Dec. 13.

The program is partnered with Peters Township Meals-On-Wheels, Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, Aging Services of Washington County, Washington Meals-On-Wheels, Lutheran Social Services Meals-On-Wheels, Independent Meals-On-Wheels, LifeSpan, and various other agencies including senior citizen apartments in Houston, Canonsburg and Burgettstown.
The Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in the commissioner’s meeting room, 1820 McLaughlin Run Road, to consider a request for a conditional use filed by Alexander B. Castrodale for the construction of a single-family house at 1920 McMillan Road. The area is zoned Residential Low Intensity District. A copy of the application is available for inspection from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the township offices, 1820 McLaughlin Run Road.
