SF holds shredding event

State Reps. Jesse White, D-Allegheny/Beaver/Washington, and Nick Kotik, D-Allegheny, announced that they will host a free paper shredding event to help constituents destroy unwanted documents that contain personal information such as Social Security, credit card and bank account numbers.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the South Fayette Township Municipal Building, 515 Millers Run Road in Morgan.

Common types of unwanted items that should be shredded include credit card statements, credit card applications, bank statements, canceled checks, income tax information, insurance records and retirement or pension fund information.

The event is only for residential documents made of paper. Documents will be shredded on site and recycled.
