Community of Christ Church, Bethel Park, will hold Dinner for a Dollar 5-7 p.m. Sept. 12. Dinner will include spaghetti, bread, salad and dessert for $1 per person or $3 for a family.
St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carnegie, will return to its regular schedule on Sept. 7 and 8. A contemporary service of Holy Communion is held at 6 p.m. Saturdays, traditional Holy Communion liturgies at 8:15 and 11 a.m. Sundays and Sunday school is held at 9:45 a.m.
St. Thomas More Parish, Bethel Park, will sponson an evangelization mission Sept. 16-19. Open Mission: A Theology & Spirituality of Relationships will be conducted by Father Simeon Gallagher. The mission will begin with weekend homilies and continue 7-8:15 p.m. each day.
Presentations will also take place after the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Reconciliation will be available after Wednesday’s program.
Christian Mothers & Guild at St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, will meet Sept. 4. Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. followed by the installation of new officers and new members. A group photo is planned at 5:45 p.m. in the church.
Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold the following services for Rosh Hashanah:
• Rosh Hashanah, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 and 5.

Christian rock musican Michael James Mette will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. With a degree in theology and 14 years experience as a worship leader, keynote speaker and retreat coordinator, Mette will also share stories and reflections of how his songs originated.
A reception in St. Patrick Center will follow the concert.
Grace Community Church, Bridgeville, formerly known as Journey Church, will celebrate the changing of its name with an open house at 10:45 a.m. Sept. 8. Former Pittsburgh Steeler Steve Avery will be the special guest speaker.
The church recently voted on the name change to better reflect its purpose and goal, which is to be a “church caring for the community.” Pastor Bryan Thiessen will continue to preside over the congregation at its original location, 56 Prestley Road.

“Community Bible Study” will begin its fall non-denominational study on Sept. 9 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon.
This year’s study will be the Book of Romans and its relevance to our daily lives. Topics include: Who is righteous in God’s eyes? Is God for us or against us? How do we love one another? Should we respect our governing authorities?

Shifts are planned in 1 ½ hour increments, beginning at 9 a.m., 10:30, noon, 1:30 p.m. or 3 at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Washington Road.
