Keystone Oaks Alumni Class of 1978, along with the Golden Wings Foundation, invite all KO supporters to a scholarship fundraiser to benefit the Keystone Oaks High School Class of 2014.

The event will take place from 8 p.m.-midnight April 25 at The Royal Place, 2660 Library Road (Route 88). KO’s own Lou Pietosi and his band Silent Partner will perform. Cash bar.

Bethel Park Lions will be at South Park Shops from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 26 for its annual White Cane Day Solicitation. All donations benefit blind, vision-impaired charities. Look for Lions in orange apron vests.

The Bridgeville Public Library’s second annual Taste of the Town will be held April 26 in the Chartiers Room of the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department on Commercial Street.

Tickets are $50 per person and are available at the library. No tickets will be available at the door. Savoy Truffle – the Beatles Band will provide entertainment. There will be some new restaurants along with returning favorites.

For the past 75 years, Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic operas have lived on through The Pittsburgh Savoyards productions. The regional artistic gem features the talents of professional and semi-pro singers, actors, musicians, directors and producers who have staged dynamic productions of “The Mikado,” “The Pirates of Penzance,” “H.M.S. Pinafore” and more. More than 2,500 attended Savoyards shows last year at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library Theater in Carnegie.

Wrapping up the season-long 75th Anniversary Celebration will be The Grand Duke’s Dress Ball fundraiser, 8-11 p.m. April 26 at the Twentieth Century Club, the site of the first public performance by The Pittsburgh Savoyards. The masters of ceremonies are Jim Cunningham of WQED-FM and Jim Critchfield, a well-known local actor and teacher. There will be entertainment and dancing, including performances by individual artists of The Pittsburgh Savoyards, The Pittsburgh Savoyards Orchestra and The River City Swing Band. Hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, an exciting silent auction and a display of The Pittsburgh Savoyards historical memorabilia will also be part of the evening.

Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh’s annual “Girls’ Night Out” fundraiser will take place April 30 at the Hollywood Theater, Dormont. This private screening of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” stars Audrey Hepburn, along with the chance to win Tiffany & Co. items including jewelry. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for refreshments; the movie starts at 7:30. Free parking is available. Tickets are $40. The Honorable Aja Brown, 31-year-old Mayor of Compton, Calif., will be the keynote speaker at the 60th Annual Human Rights Dinner to benefit the Pittsburgh NAACP. Brown will address this year’s theme “Wealth: Affirming the Promise of Yesterday, Creating the Dreams of Tomorrow.”

A native of Compton, Mayor Aja Brown is the 13th mayor to serve the citizens of the City of Compton. On June 4, 2013, she made history as the youngest mayor elected in the city’s history.

The 60th Annual Human Rights dinner takes place 6 p.m. May 1 at the Westin Convention Center Hotel and is presented by EQT Corporation and the corporate committee is co-chaired by Charlene Petrelli and Greg Spencer.
