Bullying part of pecking order

1 min read

I would like to make the following comment on the issue of bullying which, “has been going on for ages,” as stated in the April 23 editorial “South Fayette in the wrong in bully case.” Perhaps the reason for “going on for ages” is because it is a manifestation of the “pecking order,” inhaerent in our nature and predominate psychological jargon in the ’70s. The “pecking order” instinct is hard-wired in our nature, much like fear of the dark. We all want to dominate other people. Sibling rivalry in families is another example. Why? Because it was necessary to survive in prehistoric times. So whether we like it or not, and no matter how many cures are suggested, bullying may be restrained, but not eliminated. Google “pecking order” for further information.
