Join friends, neighbors and volunteers 9 a.m.-12:20 p.m. May 3 for Collier’s Annual Clean-Up. Volunteers will be at Lane Construction, 2 Prestley Road in Presto. The Junior League of Pittsburgh will host its inaugural Mt. Washington Home Tour Opening Night Cocktail Party from 6:30-10:30 p.m. May 9 at LeMont. The home tour, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 10, will feature up to 14 homes with great views, architecture, history and design. Ticket holders will have an opportunity to tour the inside of all the homes. Giant Oaks Garden Club will sponsor its annual Plant Sale 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 18 at the Peters Township Public Library, rain or shine. The sale, now in its 13th year, features a large variety of quality potted perennial plants selected from members’ gardens. Also featured are herbs, annuals, hanging baskets and raffle baskets of gardening items. The Peters Township Farmers Market will take place from 3-7 p.m. every Wednesday, beginning May 28 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Venetia.
Twenty vendors will sell everything from fresh produce to baked goods, honey, eggs, jams and jellies, salsas and prepared foods. Local farms Simmons and Kern will have stands.
