BETHEL PARK
Items stolen: At least six unlocked vehicles had items stolen out of them along Great Rock Drive, Bluestone Drive and Grand Ridge Road from Aug. 9-12. Items stolen included phones, iPads, loose change and other electronics.
CANONSBURG
Fraud: Several cases of fraud and identity theft were reported including unauthorized charges made on an elderly woman’s bank account between April 14 and July 24, for a total of $490. Charges were made for prepaid cellular telephones and billing services used by families to deliver money to inmates at correctional institutions, and a man told police seven checks were stolen and cashed for a total of $3,000 at check-cashing businesses in West Virginia. Another victim told police five purchases were made on his debit card Aug. 1 for $1,938 at a Target store in Vallejo, Calif. Yet another victim said $207 was stolen from his bank account, police said.
Simple assault: Cesare Howarth, 60, of 1214 First St., Canonsburg, will be charged with simple assault and harassment for grabbing a bartender at the White Eagles Club, 303 Adams Ave., and trying to pull her over the counter until other patrons intervened Aug. 4, borough police said. He apparently was angry she would not serve him because he was intoxicated, police said. Charges will be filed at the office of District Judge David Mark.
Pole hit: David Duffy, 17, of 263 Meadowview Drive, Canonsburg, escaped injury when his vehicle hit a utility pole in front of 333 W. Pike St., about 7 p.m. Aug. 4, police said. He told police he fell asleep at the wheel.
CASTLE SHANNON
Hit and run: A vehicle parked on Cooke Drive was struck by another vehicle that fled, police said. The accident was reported at 9:20 p.m. Aug. 4.
Juvenile charged: A 15-year-old boy was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and providing false identification to police in the 3600 block of Library Road at 10 p.m. Aug., 1, police said.
A 17-year-old boy was charged with drug violations on Arch Street at 9:42 p.m. Aug. 2, police said.
Simple assault: Chelsea Moody, 25, of 500 Hoodridge Drive, Pittsburgh, was charged with simple assault following an incident on Hoodridge Drive at 2:50 a.m. Aug. 3, police said.
Terroristic threats: Joseph Frohlinger, 54, of 4019 Canal St., Pittsburgh, was charged with terroristic threats and public drunkenness on Canal Street at 10:18 p.m. Aug. 3, police said.
Underage drinking: A 16-year-old boy was cited for underage drinking at 11:51 p.m. Aug. 3, on Steiger Street, police said.
Warrant: Tyler McIntosh, 22, of 3628 Poplar Ave., Pittsburgh, was arrested on a warrant for another agency at 4:20 p.m. Aug. 5, on Poplar Avenue, police said.
Criminal mischief: Three girls, two of whom are age 12 and another age 13, were detained for Port Authority police following an incident of criminal mischief on Castle Shannon Boulevard at 10:17 p.m. Aug. 1, police said.
Thefts: Wallets were stolen from two unlocked vehicles overnight on St. Anne Street, and another unlocked vehicle, also on St. Anne Street, was entered, police said. The thefts were investigated before 9 a.m. Aug. 5; and a purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked overnight on Hoodridge Drive. The purse theft was reported at 10:36 a.m. Aug. 5, police said.
CECIL TOWNSHIP
Cash stolen: Ryan Duritza, 301 Mary Lane, Canonsburg, reported that $1,800 in cash was removed from his vehicle while it was parked in front of 45 Davis Lane, township police said. Duritza said he placed the vehicle keys in his sock and in the morning discovered the vehicle was moved and the cash removed. The theft was reported at 10:25 a.m. Aug. 4.
Ladder stolen: Michael Levkulich, 16 Liberty Lane, told police a 20-foot ladder was removed from the side of his house, township police said. The theft was reported at 5:06 p.m. Aug. 4.
Warrant: Tyrone Wilson, 31, of 13 Second St., Lawrence, was placed in Washington County Jail at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 4, on a probation violation warrant, township police said. Police were at the residence on an unrelated matter when it was learned there was an outstanding warrant for Wilson.
Madeline Johnson, 150 Markwood Drive, reported at 6:22 p.m. Aug. 5, that she was the victim of fraud after she sent three pre-paid cards for the purchase of an English bulldog she located through a website, township police said. Johnson said the man she contacted had a thick foreign accent and after sending the pre-paid cards, informed her he needed an additional $1,500 to cover insurance to transport the dog from Minnesota to Pennsylvania, police said. Johnson notified police who have been unable to contact the man.
Kayla Sickles, 5 Orchard St., Muse, reported at 1:58 p.m. Wednesday, that she was out $2,000 after being contacted by a person regarding baby sitting services Sickles had listed on Care.com, township police said. Sickles said she was contacted July 24 and received a check for $2,460 from a bank in Utah with instructions to return several prepaid cards totalling $2,000, police said. After sending the cards, Sickles was notified by the bank that the check she deposited was bad, police said.
Car jack stolen: A 4 1/2-ton car jack was stolen from the front porch of 36 McConnell Road before 2:30 p.m. Aug. 7, township police said. Chaz Heintz said the car jack, valued at $100, was hidden under a cooking grill.
A 47-inch television was stolen from a residence at 1251 McEwen Ave., Canonsburg, township police said. Lisa Barbosky said she returned to the residence to find the rear door smashed and the television missing. The report was filed at 5:21 p.m. Aug. 7.
UPPER ST. CLAIR
Robbery: An actor wearing a mask, gloves and long sleeves took two cartons of cigarettes from the Marathon Oil station on Painter’s Run Road at 10:50, August 11 after he attempted to take the cash register while the clerk was away. The clerk chased the actor out. Police are investigating and reviewing camera footage from the premises.
Theft: A resident reported at 3:30 p.m. August 8 that an Ohio State yearbook ordered from eBay was stolen from a doorstep along Cremona Drive after UPS delivered it. Estimated value was reported at $75, police said.
Vandalism: A white Jeep Wrangler was reported to have caused damage to the lawn of the recreation center off of Mayview Road on Aug. 9.
