Pittsburgh Irish Festival
The Pittsburgh Irish Festival returns Sept. 5-7 to Riverplex at Sandcastle, boasting a line-up of international, national and local acts, authentic Irish food, an authentic Irish marketplace, an Irish dog area, instrument demonstrations and cultural workshops, activities for the whole family and more.
Highlights include performances by Scythian, Screaming Orphans, POGEY, The Willis Clan, Makem and Spain, Moxie, Socks in the Frying Pan, Matt and Shannon Heaton, local favorites Corned Beef & Curry, The Wild Geese and Bastard Bearded Irishmen. Other programming includes a traditional Irish Mass celebrated on Sunday, step-dance performances, Irish language workshops and whiskey and cider tastings.
Hours are 4-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door. Children 12 and under will be admitted for free. Advanced tickets are also available for purchase at www.pghirishfest.org, by texting/calling 412-422-1113, or emailing pghirishfestival@gmail.com. On Friday, a $5 admission will be offered between 4-6 p.m. for ages 13+, and from 6-8 p.m. to students with a college I.D. Weekend passes are $30/person.
